Tommy’s POD system for detergents and maintenance is one of the best car wash equipment innovations of the last decade. The POD system allows operations to bring traditional backroom functions out into the wash tunnel for easy line of sight adjustment and control. However, being in the wash tunnel exposes the equipment to a harsher environment, which requires stronger materials to keep POD systems running at top performance for the long haul.
Moisture, heat, and high humidity can cause plastic buttons to break down over time, leading to cracking and buckling. To overcome this, Tommy’s has introduced a stainless-steel push-button station for POD systems. In addition to being corrosion and rust-resistant, stainless steel is extremely durable. It retains strength at both remarkably high and exceptionally low temperatures and can handle temperature swings.
The POD Stainless Steel Pushbutton Stations use all stainless-steel construction with a fully around gasket to prevent water leaks. The push-button stations also uniquely attach to the PODs, utilizing the POD panels to provide a sleek, flush design. The stainless push button stations will directly replace the plastic versions that are currently part of the standard offering, which are mounted to each POD and wall. Retrofit kits are available for sites with existing, plastic push button stations.
